Reverse image search helps you find where a photo came from. It is useful for spotting fake accounts and finding products.
How to do it
- Save or screenshot the image (only public content).
- Use Google Lens, Bing Visual Search or TinEye.
- Upload the image and review the matches.
On phones, Google Lens can search directly from your screenshot.
Common uses
- Spot catfish and fake accounts using stolen photos
- Find the original creator to give credit
- Find a product you saw in a post
- Check if your own photos are being reused without permission
Limits
Search engines do not index most Instagram content directly, so results may show other websites where the image appears.
If your photo is stolen
Report the account for intellectual property or impersonation through Instagram’s help centre.
Save public photos for personal reference with our Photo Downloader. Read fake Instagram accounts.
