Drafts let you start a post now and finish it later.
Save a post or Reel as a draft
While creating, tap the back arrow and choose Save draft.
Find your drafts
- Posts: tap + and choose Post; drafts appear above your gallery
- Reels: go to your profile Reels tab; drafts appear first, or tap + → Reel → Drafts
Story drafts
Tap the back arrow while creating a story and Save draft. Story drafts are kept for a limited time.
Important
Drafts are saved on your device. Deleting the app or changing phones may delete them.
Use drafts for batching
Create several drafts in one session, then post on schedule. Better: use scheduling. See schedule Instagram posts.
