Bots are software that perform actions on Instagram automatically. Some promise growth; most deliver trouble.
Types of bots
- Auto-follow/unfollow bots
- Auto-like and auto-comment bots
- DM bots sending mass messages
- Fake follower bots (accounts that are bots)
Why to avoid them
- Instagram’s terms prohibit automated behaviour
- Risk of action blocks, password resets or disabled accounts
- Spammy comments damage your brand
- Followers gained rarely engage
Allowed automation
Official tools like Meta Business Suite scheduling, saved replies and approved messaging automation are fine.
