Coming back after a break is easy if you deactivated the account yourself.
Reactivate a deactivated account
- Open the Instagram app or website.
- Log in with your username and password.
- Your account is restored with all posts and followers.
You may need to wait 24 hours after deactivating before you can reactivate.
Forgot your password?
Use Forgot password with your email or phone. See change your password.
If your account was disabled by Instagram
You will see a message when you log in. Follow the appeal option and provide the requested information. Disabled is different from deactivated.
If you requested deletion
You can cancel deletion by logging in within the deletion waiting period (usually 30 days).
After coming back
Post a “back” story, check Account Status and update your bio.
Read temporarily disable your account.
