How to unsend
- Open the chat.
- Tap and hold the message.
- Tap Unsend.
- Confirm.
The message disappears for both people.
Does the other person know?
They may have already seen it or received a notification preview. Instagram may also show a small note that a message was unsent.
Edit instead of unsend
Instagram lets you edit a sent message for a short time after sending. Tap and hold, then choose Edit.
Unsend in group chats
It works the same way, but anyone who already read it has seen it.
